Fawn Fire Forces Evacuations in Northern California, Arson Suspect Arrested

The Fawn Fire forced evacuations in Shasta County, California, as the fire grew to 5,850 acres (about 9 square miles) as of September 24, according to officials. Approximately 4,000 Shasta County residents have been evacuated, local news reported. Cal Fire said that one woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with the fire. As of the morning of September 24, the fire had destroyed 25 structures and is at 10 percent containment.
