Victoria's government has unveiled a long-awaited roadmap out of lockdown, which shows a gradual easing of restrictions for those who are vaccinated. The plan was informed by modelling from the Burnett institute which considers pressure on the health system. At 80 per cent single doses, outdoor recreation such as basketball, golf, tennis and cricket will be permitted for vaccinated Melburnians. A staggered reopening for schools will see Melbourne students sit the GAT on October 5 and VCE students return to the classroom from October 6. From October 18, prep students will resume onsite learning three days a week and grade one and two students will return to the classroom two days a week. The 80 per cent double dose target is expected to be reached around November 5 and Mr Andrews said he hopes residents will be able to welcome 30 visitors to their homes on Christmas Day.
