WhatsApp has been fined more than $360 million by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation for violating privacy rules. The fine, which is the largest ever handed to a company in the EU, is because authorities claim WhatsApp has not been transparent enough about its handling of user data. WhatsApp says it disagrees with the decision and plans to appeal.
