Cold Snap Brings Strong Winds and Snow to Twin Cities

A cold snap brought strong wind gusts and snow to the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area on Sunday, December 5, producing black ice and hazardous driving conditions, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported. Footage filmed by Quinn E Casey, who said it was taken in the suburb of White Bear Lake on Sunday morning, shows wind gusts blowing snow across a white landscape. An additional inch of snow was forecast for northern counties in the area along with wind gusts up to 45 mph, according to the NWS. Credit: Quinn E Casey via Storyful
