Fire Crew Contains ‘Fast-Moving’ Grass Fire in Colorado

Fire crews in Colorado battled high winds and dry conditions on Tuesday, December 14, to contain a ‘fast-moving’ grass fire that threatened structures in the area. The fire, named the Chatridge 3 Fire, spread rapidly and prompted a pre-evacuation order for nearby residential areas. This footage, posted to the official Twitter account of South Metro Fire Rescue, shows the scorched land from the fire. No injuries were reported, according to the fire service. Following the containment, public information officer for South Metro Fire Rescue said while the fire was 100 per cent contained, a “considerable amount of smouldering material” remained that crews aimed to extinguish by the end of the day on Tuesday.
