Queensland’s lagging vaccination rates have received a much needed boost as fears grow of community spread of the new Omicron variant. Authorities are trying to trace and contain three new locally acquire cases including a Gold Coast couple who were infectious in the community for up to 13 days. More people got vaccinated in the state than anywhere else in the country on Saturday with over 33,000 doses administered.
