PM faces criticism over interstate travel vaccine passport

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has criticised the prime minister’s proposal to introduce domestic vaccine passports saying there should be freedom of movement across the country regardless of whether people are vaccinated or not. Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s idea would see vaccinated Australians exempt from local restrictions and border closures. The proposal would entrench freedom of movement for vaccinated Australians and incentivise people to receive the vaccine. ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr and WA Premier Mark McGowan also said they would need more evidence and a concrete plan before they could agree to the prime minister’s suggestion.
