Health authorities in Victoria are awaiting test results for dozens of elderly residents after a staff member at a Melbourne care home tested positive to COVID-19. This marks the Melbourne luster’s first mystery case and Victorian health officials are saying the infection is of major concern. The cluster is believed to have originated in Melbourne’s north and a link between existing cases and this one is being investigated. The woman who is in her 50s tested positive on Friday and was believed to have worked while she was infectious on both Wednesday and Thursday. The aged care facility was linked to 14 different cases of COVID-19 during Victoria’s second wave.
