Google Maps expands to cover Sydney metro trains

Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech told Sky News Google Maps has extended its services to offer “Street View” style maps of Sydney’s metro train network. “They used Sydney as the test bed,” he said. “I’d say in the coming months you’ll see this for train stations around Australia. “They had to map all the train stations, entrances, exits, platforms, in the same way they did with Street View. “I’m sure a lot of you have seen that ability to look down streets … now you can do the same thing in a train station”. Mr Fenech said it would be a “really handy” feature to make planning trips and navigating complex train stations easier - particularly for people in wheelchairs, parents with prams, or travellers with luggage.
