Australia Post will ‘unequivocally commit’ to delivering perishable goods past June 30

Australia Post will continue to transport perishable goods through it's postal network and will cooperate with state governments to ensure food safety regulations are met, according to Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie. The remarks come after Australia Post had initially imposed a ban on all perishable goods by June 30, a ban they later deferred pending business consultation. "Australia Post will be trucking perishable goods," Ms McKenzie said. "They're actually going to work with state governments because its food safety regulations that's their purvey - to get a harmonised system across the board. "They gave us that unequivocal commitment a couple of weeks ago in the inquiry."
