Samsung and Google have united to create smartwatch platform in a “real move against Apple” which has the “lion’s share” of the market, according to Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech. Mr Fenech told Sky News the platform would utilise the fact a lot more customers are using the devices for convenience and health purposes and also create an “ecosystem for developers”. “It’s really important that developers take on the platform because without the apps, without all those widgets that you can have on a smartwatch it won’t be very attractive to customers. “I think this is a real move against Apple. Apple’s got the lion’s share of the market with Apple Watch thanks to the fact that they’ve got huge developers support with their robust watch OS platform”.
