A child has died and four other people are in hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on a Melbourne freeway. A truck is believed to have crashed into multiple vehicles on the Calder Freeway - about 35 kilometres from Melbourne's CBD, on Monday. A toddler died at the scene - the parents of the child are in critical condition. Another child who was in the same car is being treated at the Royal Children's Hospital and remains in a stable condition. A man who was trapped under the truck is in a stable condition at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The truck driver assisting police with their inquiries.
