Australia has secured a deal to triple its access the Pfizer vaccine with one million doses a week being able to be access from July 19, three times the average doses of May and June. Australia received 1.7 million doses in June, 2.8 million are expected in July, and under the new deal 4.5 million will be received in August. Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a boost to Sydney’s vaccination program and the city will receive an extra 150,000 doses each of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines. Sydney is facing another lockdown extension as COVID-19 cases surge in the southwest.
