Firefighters rescued residents stranded by floodwaters in Suzhou, China – a city in southeastern Jiangsu Province – on Tuesday, July 27, after Typhoon In-Fa brought heavy rain and strong winds to the country’s eastern coast. Accumulated rainfall in Jiangsu Province was expected to reach up to 300 millimeters (about 11.8 inches) by Tuesday as the typhoon’s center reached Nanjing city, according to weather reports.
