Decision to redirect Pfizer doses from rural NSW to Sydney schools meets criticism

The national body representing regional doctors has criticised the decision to redirect Pfizer vaccines from rural New South Wales towns to senior school students in Sydney. The Rural Doctors Association of Australia said it will put critical health services in those communities at risk. RDAA President Dr John Hall said it was “completely unconscionable” to redirect up to 40,000 doses from the country to the city when there are health workers in the regions who are yet to be vaccinated. Dr Hall said there was a volume frontline, aged care and GP works who have not had access to a vaccine in regional NSW.
