Russia has recorded a high of 697 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. On Saturday, Russia's coronavirus operative response headquarters reported 24,439 new cases of the virus which is the highest number since January 16. The latest outbreak has been driven by the Delta variant and has been surging through a largely unvaccinated population.
