Three people have died in two Caribbean islands as Tropical Storm Elsa brings heavy rain and high winds. The storm is expected to head towards Florida in the next 48 hours as the state government and residents prepare to bunker down. Florida Governor Ron Dion DeSantis has issued a state of emergency for more than a dozen counties ahead of the storm and urged Floridians to get prepared. “This includes having a stocked disaster supply kit with at least seven days of supplies and developing a disaster plan ahead of the storm,” he said.
