Queensland’s chief health officer has conceded she is “concerned” about the more than 80 “extraordinarily high-risk patients” currently in hospitals. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk today announced there were 82 people currently in hospital with active cases of COVID-19. Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said she is concerned about the “amount of virus each person has”. “We know the risk is extraordinarily high and we are getting more and more of these extraordinarily high-risk patients in our hospitals,” she said. “It is so easy for one tiny, tiny error to lead to contamination of a healthcare worker. It is a concern that we’ve got so many infectious people in our hospital system."
