Queensland three-day lockdown to be reviewed on Thursday

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has delayed reviewing Queensland’s current three-day lockdown until Thursday after previously flagging a Wednesday update. Queensland recorded two new locally acquired cases on Wednesday, down from eight the previous day in what the premier hailed as “very encouraging”. “The signs are very encouraging, and I want to thank everybody involved in this,” she said. The Sunshine State is currently in day two of its three day lockdown announced on Monday where the premier also said health authorities will review the lockdown on Wednesday. Ms Palaszczuk has walked those comments back telling the media her government will be providing an update on Thursday. “Fingers crossed, all will be looking good for Easter,” she said. “It won't be made on Wednesday night. It is made on Thursday morning when we get the most up to date information. “We'll be making those decisions tomorrow (Thursday), but if it's encouraging news tomorrow, we will be lifting the hotspot for Greater Brisbane. “The only time that we can update people with the most accurate information is 9am in the morning.”
