Review into SA quarantine finds air leak sparked Victorian outbreak

A review into South Australia’s quarantine breach which has been linked to Victoria’s latest outbreak found an air leak between rooms was responsible for the leak. Adelaide's Playford medi-hotel was at the centre of the latest breach where it was reported the Indian strain of COVID-19 was transmitted between rooms through the air. SA Chief Medical Officer Nicola Spurrier said, “it is possible that you could still have aerosol and opening the door could have brought that person who was not infected in contact”. The review recommended food and rubbish be collected in bulk to keep door-opening at a minimum and when open the guests wear face masks and eye protection.
