Sky News host Chris Smith has mocked Mark McGowan's criticism of Sydney's lockdown, arguing the WA premier "locks down people who don't deserve to be". Mc McGowan defended his government's decision to lockdown the Perth and Peel regions as he took a swipe at NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian. "I remind you all to look at Sydney. I expect their lockdown will go on for a long time," he said. "That is an area of probably five or six million people in lockdown for weeks and weeks on end. "We have avoided that, and I want us to keep on avoiding that." Mr Smith said "if only" Mr McGowan "thought a little more about having faith and confidence in his own protocols and his contact tracers and his health department he wouldn't have to lock down at all."
