The focus of RFS and Fire and Rescue teams will today turn to helping Mid North Coast residents return to their properties and assist in the clean up after a severe weather event caused devastating flash floods in the region. Some people were forced to spend five nights in evacuation centres after flood waters threatened and invaded their homes – but have now been given the all clear to return to their properties. Australian Defence Force personnel are also on the ground helping with the clean up. Many small businesses without flood insurance will be stinging for months, with many farmers also seeing massive losses with lost stock and damaged machinery.
