More than 20,000 people remain evacuated after the NSW flood disaster as the SES monitor whether it is safe for residents to return home. On Wednesday 3,000 people were able to return to their homes and at least six evacuation orders have been lifted in the last 24 hours. The SES has been tasked with taking fresh food, toilet paper and other essentials by boat to communities that remain cut off by floodwaters. They have also been ferrying people back to safety and transporting some to important medical appointments.
