PM declares vaccine rollout ‘back on track’

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has declared the nation’s vaccine rollout to be back on track as domestic production ramps up. The Therapeutic Goods Administration this week approved the first four batches of locally produced AstraZeneca vaccines, with more than 830,000 doses now available to be rolled out from the CSL factory. The rollout, however, remains a long way from achieving the federal government’s goal of having four million Australians vaccinated by early April. Speaking today at the Parkville factory, Mr Morrison flagged “there is still a long way to go on this road as the vaccination program rolls out. 800,000 out the door and that will continue to increase.” “This just keeps building every week, every single week and now the supply is on out of our Australian made vaccine here,” he said.
