Federal Trade Minister and Victorian MP Dan Tehan has told Sky News the Commonwealth will seek to offer any necessary support to Victoria in containing the virus. Victorian health authorities have confirmed two likely coronavirus cases in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. A statement from health authorities confirmed a “full investigation” was underway while both likely cases are isolated and retested immediately. Mr Tehan said he was confident Victoria’s contact tracing and testing systems will able to get on top of the cases and prevent a mass outbreak. “The Commonwealth will seek to do what they can to work with the Victorian government to make sure that we can – if the two cases are confirmed – provide what support we need to enable the Victorian to quickly get on top of it,” he said.
