Victorian contact tracing teams working ‘extraordinarily hard’ to contain outbreak

Victoria Health Minister Martin Foley has thanked the state’s contact tracing teams for working “extraordinarily hard” to chase down lines of inquiry and build the lists of contacts following the last outbreak. “As of last night, the department had identified 301 primary close contacts and with negative tests available so far for 80 of those with more coming in today," he said. Mr Foley said three tier one venues of particular concern were attended by a positive case in Prahran and South Yarra on Saturday May 22 and early Sunday morning. The times of concern for the Three Monkeys on Chapel Street are between 9:10pm and 11pm on Saturday May 22 as well as 12:30am and 2:30am on Sunday May 23. The Somewhere Bar on Chapel Street, between 10:30pm and 1:00am May 22-23 and the Circus Bar on Commercial Road, South Yarra between 1:30am and 4:15am on May 23 are also tier one exposure sites. Anyone who attended the venues during the listed times is required to have a COVID test and isolate for 14 days.
