Victoria’s hospitality industry has called for continued and targeted support if strict limits remain in place after the state’s lockdown lifts. Hospitality is expected to reopen on Wednesday with strict density and seating limits, but the exact restrictions are still unknown to the industry. It is feared it will be financially unviable for many venues to open if the limits are too strict. The industry has also expressed frustration that they will have less than 24 hours to prepare for customers following Premier Daniel Andrews’ media conference this morning where the specifics of the restrictions will be announced. The state’s fifth lockdown is expected to end at 11:59pm tonight.
