Australian officials are waiting to confirm how many citizens and visa holders have been left in Afghanistan after withdrawing forces. Australian troops made it out of the country hours before the ISIS-K suicide bombing after intelligence warnings came of a potential terror attack. The last Australian plane departed the airport just four hours before the attack and it is understood to have been delayed, allowing soldiers to track down a woman and her three-year-old child. The final flight brings Australia’s 20-year-long military presence in Afghanistan to an end.
