Western Sydney community ‘sick’ of being treated like ‘outcasts’

Shadow Minister for Housing and Homelessness Jason Clare says there is "resentment" within the western Sydney community who are being subject to tougher restrictions than the rest of the city. Sydneysiders who live in 12 COVID-hit local government areas (LGAs) have been barred from leaving their homes from 9pm to 5am. Residents in those LGAS have also been limited to just one hour of exercise a day. Mr Clare told Sky News Australia the community are sick of being treated like "outcasts" with a lot of people "angry" that they are copping the blame. "Western Sydney didn't cause this nightmare, it was caused because Sydney was locked down too late," he said. "If it was locked down when the virus was in Bondi, people in here Bankstown wouldn't be suffering now." The member for Blaxland then blamed Prime Minister Scott Morrison for "not buying enough vaccines".
