Hurricane Ida made landfall as an “extremely dangerous” category 4 storm on Sunday, August 29, near Port Fourchon, Louisiana. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm made landfall with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. This footage was filmed by the Air Force Reserve’s Hurricane Hunters as the storm hit the Gulf Coast. The crew made two passes through the eye as the hurricane made landfall.
