Students from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, evacuated their dormitories on Monday, August 30, after Hurricane Ida caused destruction and power outages across the campus. This footage filmed by Tulane student Porter Volk shows a flooded dormitory hallway amid the power outage. The university announced the closure of the campus and cancellation of classes until September 13 as students evacuated to Houston, where food and lodging would be provided, according to the university. Ida has since been downgraded to a tropical depression and was moving across Tennessee on Tuesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. Credit: Porter Volk via Storyful
