NSW limo driver who sparked Bondi delta outbreak fined for COVID breach

The New South Wales limousine driver who sparked the original Bondi delta outbreak has been fined for breaching the public health order. Michael Podgoetsky was issued with a $500 penalty infringement notice for not wearing a mask while waiting for a bus in Sydney's east. The 63-year-old has been described as the 'index case' in the outbreak – which has claimed the lives of 96 people. He's believed to have caught the virus while driving international aircrews to and from Sydney Airport in June.
