Hurricane Grace left flooding and downed branches in Merida, Mexico, in the Yucatan Peninsula, after the storm made landfall there on Thursday, August 19. Hurricane Grace made landfall as a Category 1 storm just south of Tulum, Mexico, early on Thursday, before decreasing to a tropical storm as it moved across the peninsula. By Friday morning the National Hurricane Center reported Grace had again strengthened to hurricane status. Videos filmed by Instagram user @krlzbe on Friday show the effects of the storm in Merida.
