Evacuation Orders Remain as Crews Battle Lava Fire in Northern California

The Lava Fire in Siskiyou County, California, burned 19,680 acres (about 31 square miles) and was 25 percent contained as of Thursday, July 1, fire officials said. All evacuation orders remained in effect as a second blaze, dubbed the Tennant Fire, continued to burn 25 miles away from the Lava Fire. This footage filmed by public information officer Daniel Ramey, who said it was taken in the city of Weed, shows wind picking up smoke from the fire. Credit: Daniel Ramey via Storyful
