The United Kingdom’s Met Office has issued its very first extreme heat warning, which comes into effect in the south-west of the UK until Thursday night. This comes after temperatures have soared past 30 degrees Celsius over recent days, with England and Wales recording their hottest day ever on Sunday. There are concerns for those most vulnerable, with similar conditions last year resulting in 1,700 deaths.
