The Matildas' Olympic campaign is off to a winning start, with a two-one victory over New Zealand. After dominating the first 20 minutes, Tameka Yallop put the Aussies in front. Skipper Sam Kerr doubled the advantage with a header for a convincing two-nil half-time lead. The Matildas had their chances in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net. The Football Ferns grabbing a late consolation goal but they couldn't stop the Aussies from picking up all three points.
