QLD on COVID alert after flight attendant tests positive

Queensland is on high alert as contact tracers work to track down the path of an infected flight attendant who tested positive for COVID-19. The 30-year-old woman developed symptoms on July 13 but did not get tested until July 21, and crewed six flights between Longreach, Gladstone, Hervey Bay and Brisbane during her infectious period. Passengers from flights of concern must get tested immediately and isolate. Genomic sequencing has shown this case is the Delta variant of the virus and has derived from the Sydney outbreak. This comes as Queensland has issued a hard border with New South Wales, with the acting premier issuing a reminder people in the border bubble should enter QLD for essential purposes only.
