Severe thunderstorms brought hail, high winds, and downpours to parts of the New Jersey coastline on Wednesday afternoon, July 21. Footage shared by Bill Turanyi shows hail falling on his deck in Manahawkin on Wednesday afternoon. Manahawkin was under a severe thunderstorm watch, as were other parts of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia until 8 pm Wednesday, per the National Weather Service.
