Despite Victoria recording its biggest rise in COVID cases all year health authorities are confident the lockdown is working. The state recorded 22 new locally acquired cases on Wednesday and the total number of exposure sites has risen to 380. However, 16 of the 22 cases were already in isolation during their infectious period and half were household contacts of primary close contacts. Health authorities have pointed to this as a sign contact tracing and the lockdown have been working as intended.
