Businesses Destroyed by Deadly Flooding in Waverly, Tennessee

Flash flooding described by the National Weather Service (NWS) as “historic” left at least 21 people dead in Middle Tennessee, as more than 9 inches of rain fell on the town of Waverly between August 15 and August 22. At least 21 people were killed in the flash flooding and dozens were missing, Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis told local media. School was canceled for the week. Video shared by Kansas Klein shows the destruction inside a dollar store and a pizza restaurant at a strip mall in Waverly, surveyed on Saturday morning, August 21.
