New evacuation orders were issued in Northern California’s Plumas County as the Dixie fire reached 253,052 acres (about 395 square miles), according to the latest incident report. The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office issued mandatory evacuation orders on August 3 for areas “west of Highway 36/Highway 89 Junction, south to Lake Almanor West Drive and everything east to the Lake Almanor water line,” and additionally issued an evacuation warning for Lake Almanor Peninsula.
