Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine has been granted full approval by the US Food and Drug Administration. It is the first time the FDA has fully approved the jab after it authorised emergency use last December. There are hopes the move will help combat hesitancy with 49 per cent of Americans yet to get fully vaccinated. US President Joe Biden said the FDA's approval was the "gold standard".
