SA announces ‘no jab, no entry’ policy for many essential workers

South Australia has announced a ‘no jab, no entry’ policy for many essential workers coming from COVID affected parts of the country. Almost all essential workers coming from restricted areas like New South Wales and Victoria will be required to have at least one dose of a COVID vaccine if they hope to work as soon as they arrive. Premier Steven Marshall said, “these are for essential workers coming in from level six jurisdictions who are doing worker during their 14 days of quarantine”. However, the new rules will not apply to travelling AFL teams. SA Deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Emily Kirkpatrick said, “at this stage vaccination is not part of their current exemptions”. “We know that there is quite a high rate of vaccination amongst the players already.”
