Victoria has become the home of AFL with all 18 teams relocating to the state as coronavirus outbreaks worsen elsewhere across the country. However, the Adelaide Crows and the Brisbane Lions are still planning to fly over to Adelaide for a game on Saturday before returning to the ‘COVID bubble’ in Melbourne. There has also been a big push to have regional areas like Ballarat and Bendigo involved in hosting games later in the season. The Victorian government has put a pause on a further easing of restrictions in Melbourne because of the outbreaks in other states which means the MCG and Marvel Stadium can still only have 25,000 spectators.
