South Australia closes its borders due to COVID ‘deterioration’

South Australian Premier Steven Marshall has announced his state will shut its borders to residents in Queensland, Western Australia, Northern Territory, the ACT and NSW amid an uptick of COVID-19 cases across the country. Some residents in Melbourne also face restrictions should they wish to travel to South Australia, with Tasmania the only state where free movement is allowed. Mr Marshall told reporters the decision was made due a "very significant deterioration" in Australia's COVID situation.
