Mount Etna spewed a cloud of ash over the island of Sicily on June 26, reaching five kilometers above sea level, according to Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. This footage was captured by Giuseppe Carnemolla, who said he took it on the south side of Mount Etna. As of the afternoon of June 27, officials reported the explosive activity at the southeast crater had ceased. Credit: Giuseppe Carnemolla via Storyful
