An animal shelter in Cochrane, Alberta, offered tips on keeping pets cool amid a record-breaking heatwave in Canada. Suggestions shared by the Cochrane & Area Humane Society include giving animals ice treats, keeping a frozen water bottle in enclosures, and of course, offering plenty of access to water. The highest temperature on record in Canada, 47.9 C (118.22 F), was seen in Lytton, British Columbia, on Monday, Environment Canada said. At least 43 local all-time records were broken in British Columbia during the heatwave, according to officials. Credit: Cochrane & Area Humane Society via Storyful
