Melbourne residents are waking to new freedoms as COVID-19 lockdown restrictions were eased overnight. They have been reunited with the rest of Victoria after the state recorded no new local cases in the last 24 hours. The 25 kilometre travel limit has been lifted and public gatherings can now have 20 people, with two allowed to visit someone’s home. Masks are no longer required outdoors but must still be worn indoors.
