Swimmers were urged to stay out of Gulf waters on Friday, June 18, as the City of Orange Beach, Alabama, prepared for the arrival of a potential tropical cyclone. Footage taken on Friday morning shows Romar Beach, where officials flew two red flags indicating people should not swim due to life-threatening risk. A tropical storm warning, coastal flood advisory, high surf advisory, rip current statement, and flash-flood watch were in effect for Orange Beach, the National Weather Service (NWS) said. The storm was forecast to become a minimal tropical storm before making landfall on the Louisiana coast overnight Friday into Saturday before moving inland across Mississippi and Alabama on Saturday, the NWS said.
