Israel Prime Minister’s Benjamin Netanyahu’s 12-year reign will come to an end as Israeli opposition parties have agreed to form a new government. Under a rotation agreement, the head of the right wing Yamina Party, Naftali Bennett, will serve as prime minister until 2023 before handing over to Yair Lapid, leader of the centrist party. In a statement Mr Lapid pledged to make the new government work for all citizens. “It will respect its opponents and do everything in its power to unite and connect all parts of Israeli society,” the statement read.
